I have a huge new soccer complex near my work. I go there at lunch with my scope, some cones, and a plan. I continually range my clubs as I work on my swing. My home course is just another 2 minutes down the road from there so I can mix in putting practice if anyone's out on the fields. I just had to convince the City Parks dude that I was hitting "into" and not "from" the fields. So far so good, it's very convenient. Still I usually go to the course if anyone's out there. Outta sight outta mind ya know?

Three days ago I bought a kettlebell and recieved my copy of Hardstyle Golf. I have been doing the workouts and today I played and I shot longer on every club by 5 to 10 yards. I over shot the green a couple of times because of it! I highly recommend doing these workouts. Even if you don't want to shell out the $97 for the workout video, get yourself a kettlebell and do "kettlebell swings" with it. The difference is dramatic!

Heading to the driving range tomorrow. Working on driver, 4 and 5 iron off the tee, and bunker play.

The group description says to write your practice so here I go: Today, I'm hitting the range and later I will continue reading "Peak Performance Golf" by Patrick Cohn. Tomorrow, hittin' the range at 8:30am and then playing 18 at Topstone in S. Windsor, CT. I'm trying to fix my "power fade" *cough* slice *cough*. Ben Hogan's "5 Fundamentals" helped a lot but I still need to be more consistent. For example, last round I played, I shot my 3I on a par3 183yds and landed the ball 3 feet from the pin. Next hole, I sliced my 3W and 2IH into the woods. :^/

Over the course of the next three days I'm having estimates done to have a 400-500 sqft putting green installed in the back yard- my putter may need regripped in the near future...

Went golfing for first time yesterday. Did pretty well, all straight only a few off the fairway but my putting sucked which is strange.. When you're looking at a putt what would you suggest isthe best way to see the lie? and what is an appropr. amount of time to look at it when you're playing with a group?

i started hitting a draw. i felt like my fade just wasn't going far enough. i hit 6 pyramids of balls.

Hit 3 large buckets today. I'm not sure why but I got the shanks on Wednesday. Bad and with all of my irons. I seem to have worked it out today. Hopefully.

I found a small wooden bowl about 8 inches across and 2 inches high. I put it various distances and practice chipping with my 52deg off the carpet. More concerned with the feel than actually making it.

Did more practicing today. Hit 2 big buckets, spent a hour or so chipping and putting then walked 9 holes. I'm beat... My goal for the year was to hit 50% of both fairways and greens and I've been practicing to do just that. In my 9 holes today I hit a whopping 2 greens. Sweet. Luckily the practice on and around the greens paid off and I still shot a 38. I think maybe I was just to tired to swing well after that long on the driving range...

What I do is tear the flaps off of a sleeve of balls and practice putting through that. On the putting green, I sometimes lay the box across the hole. Then when I'm on the course, I visualize that.

well my putting 3-8 footers on the carpet at home paid off and i feal good addressing and stoking my putts now IT WORKS! practice that is.. now to practice some laggs on the real track and the snow is melting so ill need to get some shortgame work in i found out. so much to do so little time! and i need to work on my flexibuility.. im tightening up too much also! only take 5 min a day to stretch i dont know why i fight it so!

dysangel March 17, 2009
I have 2 newbies on my team for the work league, So I'm trying to play and coach them. It isn't working, I have to be pretty focused to have a half way decent round.

crookshanks March 16, 2009
Mine's mental too. Don't be to impressed with the 2 buckets... Almost 1 entire bucket was little pitches inside of 50 yards. It's raining outside so I can't do any practicing. That's good because I hate practicing but bad because I need it.

dysangel March 15, 2009
Good job!! I can't hit 2 buckets, my back would be killing me. Same with putting for too long. Mine is still 80% mental, I think I'm gonna have a good hole and everything tightens up.
