July 29, 2009 Went to Golfsmith the other day to get the shaft on my Nike Sasquatch driver checked - it's been sounding kinda funny. Nothing wrong with it, though. Talking with the clubmaker there we got to discussing loft and shafts. He got me swinging a Cleveland and a Taylormade and checking out the ball flights on the monitor. My clubhead speed was faster than I thought. The Taylormade was feeling pretty good and when I tried the stiff shaft I was sold. Those suckers were flying out straight as an arrow. They had last year's model on sale for $150, but when I looked through their used club selection I found one that was the new model and looked practically new for $160. I bought that one. I can't wait to try it out this weekend. Hopefully I'll be feeling good enough to get out there. We'll see how the new driver responds! |
